FFXIV Zone Lock(ish) Challenge Rules
The Rules
1. Any of these rules can be adjusted as needed to keep things reasonable, keep me sane, and keep the game/stream fun, while staying to the heart of the challenge.
2. I will be sticking to one region at a time, doing everything I can there before moving on to the next one. (i.e. If I get to the Black Shroud, I’ll do all the quests within each area, one area at a time (Gridania, North Shroud, South Shroud, etc.). Once I’ve unlocked the whole region, I can bounce around the region as needed to complete quests, level up, etc.
3. Before leaving a region, I must unlock everything in it that was available during the current expansion I’m working through.
4. I’ll also need to complete as many collections within a region as possible, including region-specific gatherables, sightseeing log entries, and hunting log entries.
5. I do want to work towards achievement completion in this run, but it’s not the main priority, and I’ll work on them as I see fit. More time will likely be spent on achievements between MSQ expansions.
6. This is not an iron man challenge-- I can work with friends, use the marketboard, etc., and dammit I will. However, if I can get it myself, I’m going to try to.
The Goals
1. Go slow with the game and have fun! I want to do things I’ve never done before, or that I just don’t remember doing.
2. Learn every class/job.
3. Unlock all the content. (still figuring out how much “all” is but I’ll get there!)
4. Collect everything possible, including gatherables, craftables, sightseeing logs, minions, and mounts.
5. Complete all sidequests, including Blue Quests, Levequests, and FATEs.
6. Party.
